Characteristics
- The Visionary is extremely instinctive when it comes to decision-making, and does not enjoy being weighed down by lots of information or data.
- They prefer to use their gut feelings, and subconsciously feel that having too much information can distort their ability to make the very best decisions.
- Despite being intuitive, they do believe that information is useful, but only if it’s in a quantity that can be quickly filtered by their intuition.
- They have a strong sense of conviction about their decisions, and if a decision does not turn out to be the best one, this can never stop them from relying on their intuition for future decisions.
- These types usually have an extensive record of situations in the past where their intuition has served them well, and they will always hold on to these “wins” above any wrong decisions they have made.
- This is not to say that they are totally flippant when it comes to their wrong decisions – they just don’t see the point in holding on to negative feelings like regret.
Beliefs
They believe that decision paralysis should be avoided at all costs.
Fears
They are afraid of being bogged down by too much information and losing their intuitive sense about their decisions. They are afraid of being disoriented by large amounts of information.
Justification statement
“Intuition should be the driving force for all decisions no matter how big or small, and if more people leaned into their intuition, life would be more fun.”
Strategy for growth
Visionaries are confident almost to a fault. It’s important for Visionaries to remember that whilst it’s important to be decisive, it is also important to recognise that some decisions do need them to step back for a minute before diving right in. This may actually help them to increase their decision success rate.
All human beings have traits of all the decision types, but we all have a dominant type which we use and rely upon more than the others.
