Characteristics

  • The Explorer is highly intuitive and values the need to make decisions within what they personally consider to be a reasonable timeframe.
  • Whilst they try not to be weighed down by too much information, they have a preference to let their decision “settle” in their minds before taking a final action.
  • They can sometimes find themselves caught between relying purely on their own intuition or seeking the input of other people.
  • Whilst they have no problem consulting others on their decisions, they usually prefer to consult people they consider to be “fellow Intuitives”, as opposed to people who are not intuitive.
  • They do this because they feel the need to protect themselves from any input that would cause them to question their own intuitiveness.

Beliefs

They believe that balancing one’s intuition with the intuition of other people is beneficial.

Fears

Although they trust their intuition to guide them, they can often experience feelings of doubt, which can sometimes affect their confidence in their intuitive decision-making.

Justification statement

“Intuition will always continue to grow as long as it leads to more correct decisions than wrong ones.”

Strategy for growth

Explorers need to build more confidence in their intuitive decision-making. Although their ability to seek some balance is admirable and sensible, it can sometimes leave too much room for self-doubt – and this is not good for the intuition. They need to use their successful decisions to increase their confidence and reduce their self-doubt.

All human beings have traits of all the decision types, but we all have a dominant type which we use and rely upon more than the others.
