That belief sits at the heart of MindSpark. It is why giving back is part of how we work, not an extra.
Why we do this
Not every young person has had the guidance or resources to make positive choices. Some have made decisions with serious consequences for themselves and their communities, and some now live in correctional facilities.
We reject the idea that anyone is irredeemable. Everyone deserves a second chance to reach their full potential. Decision skills are one of the most practical gifts we can offer a young person starting again.
How Buy one, give one works
- We partner with correctional facilities and special schools.
- For every course purchased, a young person in one of those settings gets free access to our programmes and mentorship, starting with the Decision-Making Masterclass.
- Every client’s purchase becomes a partnership with us to transform the life of at least one young person.
What the young people learn
They learn the same foundations as every MindSpark learner, starting with understanding themselves. They learn to recognise what drives their choices and to manage pressure from the people around them. Then they learn practical tools for the decisions ahead.
For someone starting again, one lesson matters more than most: your past doesn’t have to decide your future. The Masterclass teaches people to make peace with their past:
- acknowledge your feelings;
- treat yourself with the kindness you would show a friend;
- ask for help when you need it;
- forgive yourself and others;
- let go of what you can’t control;
- be patient while you heal.
